Octo- Mom: Foolishness

The woman we so disdainfully refer to as "Octo-Mom" is back in the news. It's a wonder she managed to remove herself from the prominent spotlight long enough to make a bottle. Last week I watched an episode of Oprah. The show was about "Octo- Mom" and her finances. Sue Orman and Oprah attempted to "help" Octo Mom by reviewing her finances and advising her on ways to make money as Octo Mom was about to lose her home.
While the masses commented on how "mean" and "rough" Sue Orman seemed to be on "Octo Mom" I marveled at the Jerry Springer like-ness of the Dr.Phil style PR job Oprah and Sue were working.

The "grilling" of Octo Mom was smoke and mirrors for the majority mindset that Octo Mom and her conduct is not worth supporting. Orman uttered sentiments that mirrored general public outcry to placate the Oprah audience. You see Octo Mom has written for help with money and instead Oprah brought her on the show. Generally Oprah does not do hand outs...Or not from her pocket anyway. Instead she endorses. An endorsement from Oprah is often the equivalent of writing a cheque.

So Oprah has Octo-Mom on and lets Sue seemingly "grill" Octo-Mom when in reality she was setting the stage for... Subtle endorsement. You see after Sue played up her outrage and interrogated Octo- Mom about her motives, her mistakes and her finances... Both Orman and Oprah began to campaign that Octo Mom get on TV, get an agent and get money for ...Her children.

I was disappointed when I saw this...Sad PR stunt. And I was insulted that Oprah was using her influence to support this lunacy and that she thought she could give me PERMISSION to think this Octo Mom situation was ok and worth supporting.

Orman's pushing to have Octo-Mom confess she has a "baby addiction" and that she would not have had the children knowing what she knows now...For all the world to TIVO and record...Was tasteless and showed disregard for the children. Like Sue and Oprah announce the children "are here now". So hashing up the OBVIOUS on tape for these kids to view is tasteless.


While it looks like Orman is giving Suleman a hard time in actuality she is making way for Oprah to come in at the end of the show and say its ok to give this woman money. It was as if Oprah and Orman were saying don't judge this woman for having 14 children she can't care for financially or emotionally, don't look down on her when you see her on TV and doing things for fame.

Fast forward to this week.

Octo-Mom does a spanking video in her home...With a grown man dressed as a baby.

How about we not judge as instructed by Oprah and Orman and we let nature take it's course. Nature says this woman cannot provide for these 14 kids in any way. Nature says she will lose her home and the children will most likely become wards of the state. And given the fact these children are high profile they will most likely end up in good homes with the media ensuring they are constantly aware of one another. Maybe even given their circumstance they will find homes that allow them to interact. And then these kids will not only have financial stability but most likely a stable home and parent.

And OctoMom can go back to late night gym sessions and spanking grown men in her home.

I don't understand why it is hard for parents to differentiate talent from objectification in an inappropriate way. Before you say I am uptight...

I wanted to cry for this kid. Her parents obviously don't value her potential as a human being. Does anyone set out to raise a stripper? And what can you possibly say to defend this? I wish they had enrolled her in some real dance classes and maybe advised her that what she sees on TV, while it may glitter it is not gold. Rolling around on the ground is NOT an aspiration. It is not something to be proud of.

Sooo...Its been a while...

I have been away for two and a half months...Well not away away but away from myself. Every so often I escape the "Matrix" and go from drone to my birth right as a human being. Still I am finding my way, still I am getting "lit up" by the happenings of the world.And thankfully still I am here :)

Since I last bitched, confessed, blogged, purged whatever the world or the people in it rather have stayed true to their madness...

Lindsay Lohan has been to jail and rehab and released. I have never seen anyone so angry or upset about being foiled out of their own plans for suicide....Speaking of which, Fantasia Barrino's most recent accomplishments include surviving a willful pill overdose while sitting in a closet...While initially her management team dutifully stated the situation was not what it seemed sure enough...Fantasia proudly emerged boasting about her attempt to get it over with...I can't figure out if this is her way of campaigning for sympathy after being on the receiving end of a lawsuit from a woman whose husband she had been sleeping with. And good old Tiger, finally his wife has left. I can't imagine what he will tell his kids in years to come..."Daddy had a thing for loose vadge and STDS..."???

Anyway I have been reading some news...Well some Entertainment gossip too. Today I read about Madonna's Malawian daughter on Yahoo News. Basically the baby girl who was born to a dying 14 year old rape victim was adopted by Madonna in 2006. Now, surprise surprise a man claiming to be the "father" has come forward hoping to gain visitation rights to his child. A 26 year old man. Who in 2006 would have been 22. Who when he consummated his "relationship" with the young mother ( at the time she would have been 13?) he was 21...

I don't know whether he is dedicated to wanting to be a father or that dumb or looking to commit another offense. I can't imagine a normal 21 year old man wanting to ... "be with"...a 13 year old. In any country...It makes no sense to me.

Luckily the courts are not entertaining his claims and his request to see the little girl have been denied. While he claims to have thought the baby died along with her mother after the attack, I am still baffled by his..."Behavior" overall. Is he looking for a daughter or a date?

For once I stand behind Madonna 100%. I wish more people worked to keep children safe, inspired and loved.

Why is Shaunice Singing Lady Gaga's Song?

Anyone whose anyone...Meaning you were an 80's baby or can remember the 80's knows who Shaunice is. She was pretty, black and could sing. She sang " I love your smile" and we all " doo doo doo'd " with her.

Today I stumbled upon or rather saw it on my Bossip.com travels, Shaunice using her singing talents to cover Lady Gaga's song ...in her living room...I know the 80's were a while ago but shoot...Has the money run out?

Anyway she sounds great.I just can't figure out why she's wasting her talent on this song.

McDonalds Invites the Gay Community to Come as They Are...

Is it me or has the world become the genitalia of a deprived con-man in need of a fix? Everything has angle. Not one item in this world whether it be a necessity or luxury item is not branded, reinvented and pushed upon the masses. I know some will call this "Marketing" but this motivation to force feed ideas and incite actions that goes against what I may actually want to do, is very similar to the motivation of an erect penis ( if it had a chance to directly convey it's thoughts)in a room with the orfus of its choice. Marketing = let me control you or trick you into believing I am you and you cannot be without me. McDonald s is well known for it's marketing/brainwashing tactics. After all McDonald s was the first to target children and make them "life long" customers. Clever as they may be, the proof is in the heart attacks. We now know that McDonald s will eventually kill you. And now we know that McDonald s is an equal opportunity predator. Come one, come all and clog your arteries...even if you're gay!

I guess I should be glad McDonald s does not discriminate although I wish this commercial felt more liberating and less trickster. And what better demographic to tap into than the Gay Community to use up the discretionary income they are notable for.

Are they for real???

Your Life...Or Your Love?

All over the world heterosexual couples reserve the right to love and marry one another, while gay couples in love are still persecuted for their consenting relationships. While I tend to walk a very tight and conservative fence when it comes to Gay rights and topics I know in my heart when something is not right.

I was just reading a story that saddened me and touched my heart. It was inspiring and truthful as it speaks to humanity. The moral of the news story? The horrific nature of fellow men did not kill the life of love.

Two men in Malawi fell in love and held a small engagement party in their village. Local press got wind of the event and as it became a news topic and the government became involved. In Malawi homosexuality is illegal. It is punishable by prison and these men are now facing a 14 year sentence. Now in prison one of the young lovers is quoted as saying

"I love Steven so much. If people or the world cannot give me the chance and freedom to continue living with him as my lover, then I am better off to die here in prison. Freedom without him is useless and meaningless."

And this is what touched me. That despite their uncertain future, from the reality of a prison cell, their love prevailed. Neither man has wavered or recanted or apologized for their love. I thought to myself with so many heterosexual lovers in the world...I wonder...how many have this? in life how many human beings have this? And why is this something for which others feel they have the right to punish?

And then I thought what a wonderful real love these men have found ...If only we should all be so lucky.

Beyonce Moves in Grade School?

When Beyonce jived and thrusted in a one piece and heels people all over the world emulated her wide legged stance and bump and grind. Everyone, inlcuding men, were singing the song" Single ladies" like an anthem. But when 7 year old girls dressed the part and performed in a manner that would give Beyonce a run for her Jay Z well the anthem and athletic sexual movements went from being fun to being serious.

While these little girls had no intention of becoming the most watched video in pedophile land they very well may have succeeded. An innocent dance competition turned raunchy child erotica? That is the debate.

I didn't really pay much attention until I saw Whoopi Goldberg on the view defending it. She stood up for the little girls and their dance competition siting their costumes were in context of the event as were their moves. She said no one would be looking at the little girls thinking sex...
So I decided to watch the "routine".

The only thing I think was appropriate was the spins...




The costumes...Ok they were dance competition wear, is themed by a seductive song...The movements...Well that's another story. I can't say I would be proud of my daughter (if I had one) for those moves. Who aspires to raise a stripper?

As Dr. Phil points out in his Cnn.com interview with Anderson "the hottie " Cooper...If these girls are 7 and 8 and have this much ..."talent" where do they go from here?

I wish the parents and choreographers would have given the talent of these girls much more thought...They and their skills are worth so much more than a Beyonce imitation in cheap little girl lingerie. While these young women are talented they may be learning to value their gifts in the wrong light. It's unfortunate parents would stand to defend this routine...I hope they show as much passion and support for their daughters self esteem and grades.

Suing Rogers For Marital Breakdown??? Bundle up!

Rogers offers a great deal when you bundle your internet, cable and cell phone services but before you sign up you may want to make sure you are not cheating on your spouse.

According to Yahoo News, Gabriella Nagy is suing Rogers for bundling her cell phone bill and changing the bill recipient from her to her husband. Subsequently when the bills were bundled her husband received her cell phone bill and call history only to find she was having an affair.

According to the Toronto Star:
Nagy alleges Rogers “unilaterally terminated its cellular contract with the plaintiff that had been in her maiden name and included it in the husband’s account that was under his surname.

The marriage ended and now Nagy would like 600,000 for her "suffering". She is actually suing Rogers....

In this day and age it is a wonder grown ass adults can wipe their own asses.

Too Big is Now Too Sexy???

US Retailer Lane Bryant made news headlines last month when they released a new commercial for their lingerie lines. The hoopla is about the model/actress in the commercial being too sexy for TV. Why you ask???

Well the model is plus sized...Generally to hear a plus sized model was in a commercial, well that would make some cringe, or some snicker or some pout. There may be some who "enjoy" a full figured woman but generally the response is negative when people hear "plus" sized. Generally plus sized and "too sexy" don't tend to go hand in hand in North America.

In the commercial a beautiful woman is trying on her Lane Bryant lingerie. She gets a text message from "Dan" to meet for lunch and quickly rushes out in just a trench coat to make her lunch "date".While the commercial is full of innuendo it does not appear to have any more than any other lingerie ads out there. So I don't really see what the big deal is.

What I see is initially big women beautiful or not were downplayed and told to be ashamed, that their size was unattractive and that 90 pounds was the ONLY way to go. There was never account taken for the Big and actually beautiful women out there. The ones that could put a super model to shame. So now a "big"woman shows her curves in a lingerie commercial and half the stations won't air it because she should be ashamed of her BIG HOT BODY?

I am confused. One thing I am clear on is that society is quick to assign shame to women based on their dimensions alone and should that fail shame will be imposed on women irregardless of their dimensions , it will just be imposed.

BE ASHAMED! BE VERY ASHAMED! YOU ARE BIG! Then it's BE ASHAMED BE VERY ASHAMED you are BIG and GORGEOUS.

I live in Canada. There is a SOUP or PASTA commercial ( I can't recall what the product is) where a very 100 pd woman runs to her microwave in just her pants and bra. The concept? She's getting ready to go out but before she goes she must have pasta or soup or whatever and she happens to be wearing no shirt...

Mia's music video "Born Free" may be criticized for gratutious sex and violence but it clearly makes a statement denouncing genocide. Britain's songstress MIA has always been known for her unique sound and style. Recently she has been quoted as saying Lady Gaga sounds more like her than herself (check out the track "Chillin'" featuring Gaga).

I think it's fitting that shortly after Lady Gaga releases a 9 min video with tits, ass, promotion and murder by poison, that MIA releases a music video of equal length but with an actual message.

Maybe instead of creating a colorful tits and ass videos listing the recipe for poison, as it is fed to a room full of people, Lady Gaga can learn to imitate things with meaning. Like denouncing the killing of mass groups of people for political, racial or economical motivations and power...Rather than depicting, encouraging and trending the killing of people for sport or to appease ones anger because a boyfriend left.

Purse Babies...

The Tom Cruise Family

Since Angelina Jolie stepped back from Hollywood, did philanthropic work, grabbed some brad pitt, became a UN Ambassador and stepped back into Hollywood there have been an influx of celebrities buying purse babies...I mean adopting.

Really Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman are the original adopting celebrities but when they did it, it wasn't cool. Now, EVERYONE wants one. Like a purse. A baby. Usually ethnic( Chinese, Black, Russian), usually healthy and usually from some place destitute.

Like a Fendi, a Lui Vitton or whatever is in in the Hollywood hills these days. Celebrities can buy I mean adopt children from anywhere, carry them over their shoulder and marvel at how "different" they are.

While I am thankful these children have homes, I worry. I worry that they are going to be novelty to their celebrity parents. I worry they will be subject to additional pressures. But I am thankful they have someone. I can't deny them that. Every child deserves the best money can buy and the best a heart can give. The latter is more important obviously but if you can "give back" as a celebrity why not do it with life.

Sandra Bullock announced her secret adoption of what appears to be a black baby boy. I marvelled at this not because the star of the movie "The Blindside" may be reliving the script but because she adopted the baby with husband Jesse James (initially before the raw sewage sex he had with women outside of the marriage).

Jesse has been seen posing in Nazi photos (which I also blogged about). It would be interesting to me to see how a man who idolized Hitler would do with raising a black male.

It's 2010 and the world seems hardly removed from the Dark Ages. The way things our going on our "civilized" world I get the sense we only learned to walk upright yesterday. The things people do to one another in life is one thing but to know our governing bodies, "leaders" and "protectors", you know those that have taken oaths, jobs and made promises to be better...Turn out to be some of the most bile disgusting regressed human beings ever lived.

I have been away for a "minute" but I'm bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaccccccccck. Just read up on Arizona. All I can say is WHAT THE FUCK? As a black woman I often empathize if not identify with adversity, racism and other 'minorities'. To hear that Arizona has passed a bill SB1070 which I think stands for "STUPID BULLSHIT" make me sad.

Arizona has an immigration problem. Many people are immigrating illegally. To curb this problem first the government thought of building a wall. Arizona borders on Mexico making it an easy move. The wall idea never made it. Instead...a bill was passed basically stipulating anyone who looks like an illegal immigrant CAN be stopped by the police to verify their American citizenship.

Did "leaders" of the free world really think this up? Giving police carte blanche to accost any citizen sounds like a good idea? And in a State that REFUSED to celebrate Martin Luther King Day until it was boycotted by the NFL's Superbowl?

Boycotts Planned by San Francisco and Los Angeles

San Francisco was first off the mark with boycotts. When city supervisors began discussing a boycott on April 27, 2010, Mayor Gavin Newsom issued an immediate ban on travel by city employees to Arizona on business. The only exceptions are for law enforcement officers and for those who go to Arizona regarding matters of public health. The supervisors are now considering further boycotts of the businesses in the state.

On the same day that Newsom issued the travel ban, seven Los Angeles councilors proposed a boycott by that city’s government. Two councilors, Janice Hahn and Ed Reyes, will take the next three months to go through contracts signed by the city with the state of Arizona as well as Arizona businesses with a view to getting out of those contracts if possible. The councilors will also call for an end to any future contracts.

Some California state politicians also want a boycott. State Senator Darrell Steinberg (D-Sacramento) has written Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger asking for information about contracts between California and Arizona or Arizona businesses, both present and proposed.

When I read about the bill my first thought was I will NEVER go to Arizona. Businesses that cater to the latin community have already noticed a drop in sales.

I understand the need to regulate immigration. I refuse to believe a civilized society cannot find a civilized way to manage immigration. The idea that America would invade other countries for lack of democracy and impose this type of "legislation" is absurd.

Arizona...a state of disgrace.

Riding on a Red Carpet...Things that make you go HMMMM...

I haven't blogged in a while. I dug my head back in the sand and continued to live the 9 to 5 monotonous life. But I will remain thankful ...A quiet life is a humble life. In the last few weeks I have been thinking about things that irk me...So I thought why not share?

I take the bus...It's sad I know. So I take the public transit here in Toronto. My idea of the bus, the whole concept was this large vehicle is supposed to pick up passengers. The passengers ring a bell when they would like to get off at a stop. The bus stops and they get on or off. When taking the bus this is NOT what happens. And this makes me go hmmm....

Why do people take out change or bus tokens only when the bus arrives and the doors open? Did they not know they were taking the bus? Are they awaiting an invitation? Is this PROM?

When exiting the bus...Why do people ring the bell and wait until the bus has stopped, the doors have opened (for at least ten seconds) before getting up from their seat? Did they not know they were exiting the bus? Are they waiting for a good bye song?

Red carpet riding on public transit irks me.

Flipping through headlines...Sandra Bullock is being asked to return her Razzie award...Larry King may or may not be divorcing... Rapper Guru has passed...Rest in peace brother man. And then I see an article on Yahoo entitled "Indian Pupils Walk on fire" so of course I have to click on it.

A school camp in India offers confidence building training to pupils ages nine to 14. How does one build confidence as a child you ask? Well of course...They WALK ON HOT COALS or Broken Glass.

This age old tradition was practiced with 80 students none of whom sustained injuries according to the article.

...Whatever happened to playing sports? Or a pat on the back?

I guess if I walked on shards of glass I would probably feel like A PIMP! or something...

Typos..." 'freshly ground black people"...

Australian book publisher, Penguin Books can tell you how to make a mean pasta...Literally. Their latest release, The Pasta Bible, provides details on how to make tagliatelle with sardines and prosciutto and black people...

A typo, an 'innocent' error on one page in the Pasta Bible, calls for "salt and freshly ground black people". Mistakes happen right?

Well proofreaders apparently missed this one. Although many pages in the cookbook call for salt and black pepper at some point a proof reader got confused and let it slide. I mean people and pepper look the same right?

Take a look at your keyboard. Think about how this "slip" could happen...If it didn't happen in Autstralia I may have believed the story. Regardless the book publishing is reacting diplomatically while off the record a head honcho has been quoted as saying he was "mortified that this has become an issue of any kind", adding that "why anyone would be offended, we don't know". Regardless this book publisher is arranging to destroy the 7000 copies they could locate at a cost of $20, 000.00 and has offered to replace any books that were purchased where the owner feels uncomfortable with owning such an item.

Gone in 60 Days...

I blogged about the seductive movements of two teachers who lap danced for the student body about two months ago. To take a look at the lap dance which was caught on a cell phone camera by a STUDENT in the audience click here.

In just a minute these "educators" managed to ruin their careers tarnish the school name and make sex about appealing as cheeze whiz on socks.

Now it's 60 days later and both teachers have been removed from the school. Immediately suspended after the event, the female teacher sought sick leave and has resigned effective June 2010. She will not be back in the classroom anytime soon her resignation may not be effective for two months but she will remain on paid sick leave until then.

The male teacher was suspended no pay and was fired, he was on contract and that obviously was not renewed.

While some debate as to whether these teachers would have been suspended if a student had not caught their bump n grind on camera,regardless of the reasoning, I am glad that a standard has been set.

Same Sex Marriages Cannot be Undone?

When the same sex marriage debate came up I didn't much care. Or maybe I did but I dunno...I have always thought of myself as a liberal thinker. I figured who cares if people of the same sex want to be married, it is their right. I did realize I had reservations about some things, to my own surprise. Like gay couples adopting. It's funny what you think you believe...Or like the call to change the definition of marriage...Or comparing being gay to being black...I don't agree with that. You never really know until you are in the situation or back is against the wall what you will do. What you in your heart of hearts you actually believe. So its interesting to me that I think "liberal" but harbor some deeply "conservative" thoughts.

Anyway, so I was reading this article on Yahoo entitled " Divorce dilemma: Texas says gays can't get divorce" and I was like what????


It turns out couples who traveled to states that allow same sex marriage, and cannot be divorced in their home states that do not allow same sex marriage. Kinda funny when you think about it. It appears the rules surrounding same sex marriage have yet to be clearly defined. For instance a couple married in Massachusetts cannot get a divorces in Texas but New York will grant a same sex divorce but not a marriage.Sounds more confusing than it needs to be.

If Sarah wants to marry Joan, then let it be. And if Joan and Sarah would like to divorce then let it be. Marriages on a whole are a messy business. Male or female. Male to male or female to female. While I do not agree with changing the definition of marriage I do think same sex couples have a right to unify and divorce.

Deny Deny Deny...Denying a Religion.

Oh...the Catholic Church. Perversion veiled by the thin light of faith. Honest people and souls abused and preyed upon. A group of "religious" men make a mockery of what should be holy in their attempts to molest, rape, pillage and shame innocence into silence. When confronted they cower and grasp for the nearest lie that will catch their breath.

First it was the devil made them do it. Now it's this:

It is one thing to be criminal, deceitful and lack integrity. It is another thing to wear these characteristics as a religious norm. It is another thing to prey upon the children of your parishioners. It is another thing to get caught and treat everyone who says STOP MOLESTING CHILDREN as stupid by trying to lie to their faces.

It amazes me that as the number of victims grow and the stories continue to pour in about Catholic priests that the priesthood continuously refuses to acknowledge the problem. It's 2010.
IT'S OBVIOUS! There is a problem in the Catholic Priesthood with men sexually abusing children, youth within their parishes. It is a problem that when this information comes to light these men REMAIN with the church and often working with MORE children.

The fact this is all being denied or that men unrelated to these cases come forward with lies like it didn't happen, we didn't know, well it was the devil and finally well the truth is homosexuality is ruining our church. ALL BULLSHIT.

Pedophilia is not selectively a homosexual or heterosexual attribute. It is an individuals attribute. The Catholic Church seems to be running rampant with sexual deviance and their denial of this, tells me that this religion has been infiltrated by sexual deviants. NOT homosexuals or heterosexuals but just sexual deviants. Kind of like the child porn rings online.
The Catholic Church seems to have institutionalized pedophilia and this needs to stop. For the sake of preserving what once was an actual religion not a front for child predators the Catholic Church and its "leaders" should do the right thing. Isn't that what religions about?

Is it me or did these police men make "an example out of an innocent civilian?" A happy crowd exits a basketball game. Yes they were loud but did that deserve a beat down?

I often wonder about law enforcement officials. People who thrive on controlling other people everyday. These people are supposed to be protector of society...makes you wonder.
